A collaboration with Olive Fine Weddings and Events.
Our luxe, shadowy take on a spring wedding was inspired by the remarkable butterfly. In our vision of a modern couple with elegant taste, we considered the springtime process of renewal and change, rich color, and a play between dark and light. Composed was a ballroom wedding at the same time cozy, surprising, and contemporary. We embraced textural trends with gold foil, marble, and velvet but mixed them up in an unexpected color palette of ochre, buttercream, crimson, wine and ebony. The butterfly theme carried through from invitations, to hair accessories, signs, bridesmaid’s hoops and even the bride’s second pair of shoes. The setting serves as ballroom inspiration for a couple in any city, but there’s a flair of Chicago in a touch of art deco details and a first look on the L train platform.
