 Custom Invitations & Details

Custom stationery sets the tone for your event by greeting your guests long before they arrive at your wedding day. It’s our joy to create pieces that capture your love, your style, and the emotional energy of your partnership and your wedding day. While we do design for events that require invitations only, it is our preference to work from the very beginning with save-the-dates to establish a strong thread of design that we see through to invitations and the wedding day with day-of paper goods, signs, and other design details. For this reason, we encourage you to reach out as early as possible in your planning process to secure your date. Click through below to enjoy some inspiration from past clients’ custom events.

What to Expect

1.

After you submit our custom design inquiry form, I will check my availability- the calendar is open? Yay! I’ll reach out to set up a time for a quick phone call so we can “meet” and talk through any details that questionnaire didn’t cover.

2.

You’ll receive a custom quote tailored to your wedding design and budget. Then we fine-tune your estimate based on your response to my recommendations and I send you my sample guest list format, a form to gather all the details we’ll need to start designing, and a schedule to keep us both on track for completion.

3.

We design! I often hear from clients that their stationery design was one of the most enjoyable parts of their planning process (the best thing to hear!). I listen and learn about your relationship, the tone you want to set for your celebration, and your dream wedding style and then it’s my job to interpret all that inspiration into designs custom tailored to you. The process requires your attention and timely feedback throughout and I’ll be your guide so that it feels fun! Proofs are delivered digitally. It’s easy to submit your feedback, ask questions, and select your preferences between options I’ll present.

4.

We print and and ship to you or assemble and mail for you. Once you sign off on the final proofs, your pieces go in to production. We carefully prepare each piece for professional printing and once the paper goods are complete, we’ll either ship to you to assemble and mail, or if you’ve chosen Stone Fruit assembly, I’ll put your pieces together with care and mail them for you.

Timeline

The custom process is just that— a process. Find out when all the pieces should go into motion.

Inquire

Inquire as soon as possible. Our calendar books well in advance.

It is best to book all your wedding stationery when you first inquire because save the dates, invitations, and wedding day stationery each require a separate calendar slot.

Save the Date Design & Production

From the time we begin designing to the time save the dates are ready to ship or be mailed is generally 8 weeks. Letterpress, foil, and other specialty inclusions take an average of 12 weeks. Our calendar books out far in advance, so inquire early to ensure a place in our design calendar.

Mail Save the Dates

Mail your save-the-dates 6-12 months ahead of your wedding. Destination weddings require more time to plan, so send them out between 9 and 12 months out. A sweet spot for in-town or semi-destination is around 7-8 months.

Invitation Design & Production

From the beginning of the design process until invitations are ready to ship to you or be mailed requires 3-4 months. Inquire as soon as possible to make sure you secure a place in our calendar.

Mail Invitations

As of 2021, we recommend a longer lead time than in the past.Mail your invitations 10-12 weeks ahead of your wedding. 8 weeks is traditional, so for very small weddings, a shorter timeline may be perfectly acceptable.

Collect RSVPs

Request replies 4-6 weeks ahead of the wedding date. Make sure to leave time for phone calls in the days following your RSVP date to hunt down the stragglers.

Wedding Day Stationery Design & Production

We start this conversation when you inquire about invitations or save-the-dates. It’s important to have an idea of what pieces you’ll need for your wedding day so we can reserve your design and production timeline in our calendar. Wedding-day stationery design will begin 3-4 months ahead of your wedding.
