Set the tone for FUN with color and pattern
Despite a global pandemic delaying Holly and Dan’s wedding celebration, there would be no raining on their parade OR their gorgeous clear-skied wedding day in the Finger Lakes! These two embraced fun in every detail of their day. Sweet surprises and custom touches were everywhere— from Dan’s custom floral tie to an interactive menu design, and a couple of appearances by Udon the Cat in watercolor form. This Seneca Lake wedding proves you can go bold with color and pattern and create an event that feels both inviting and elegant. What a treat it must have been to be one of Holly and Dan’s guests.

Guests were greeted by an incredible menu display dreamed up by Verve Event Co. with input and menu design from me, inspired by this amazing couple, with calligraphy by Roc Pen Ink, displayed on a beautiful custom wall by L&R Signs, and finished with flowers by Flowerwell. Truly a team effort and such a special result. Guest names and table numbers were calligraphed on a die-cut two-piece menu that rotated to reveal each course of the meal and special beverage selections. These designs were truly a feat of engineering. Many literal moving parts had to work together.
At the reception, there was no shortage of special surprises for guests. A friend of the bride and groom and guest of the wedding reached out to me to customize the label of their HOXIE wine spritzer cans to match their stationery. Their cool can labels lent themselves to adding patterns created for the wedding and I think HOXIExStoneFruit is a happy combination!
More fun drinks! Holly and Dan are connoisseurs of delicious food and fabulous beverages, we made sure to feature their signature drinks. Watercolor cocktail illustrations, an appearance by their Siamese cat, and fabric-wrapped easels for display. The pattern on the left was designed for the invitation’s envelope liners, and on the right is a toile pattern created for the reception with illustrations of the venues, the couple’s monogram, flowers, and even a little goat to represent their welcome party tour of Lively Run Goat Dairy.
